Driving Directions -

The Stabler WA training site is located North of Carson WA.

There are actually 2 different sites identified as "Stabler WA". The first is a privately-owned 1930s-era cabin. The second is Government Mineral Springs Campground.

Both sites are within approximately 0.5 miles of each other, so the maps posted above and the following driving directions work equally well for either.

From I-205 in Portland OR, take Exit 22 to I-84E (The Dalles).
Take Exit 44 off of I-84 (Cascade Locks)
Cross the Bridge of the Gods to WA-SR 14E. A toll of $1.00 in US cash is charged to cross this bridge.
Take WA-SR 14 east thru Stevenson to the turnoff for Carson WA (Wind River Hwy).
Follow the Wind River Rd thru Carson to just past the Carson National Fish Hatchery.
Where the Wind River Rd turns hard right (just past the Hatchery - approximately Mile Post 13) go straight ahead.
Watch for the signs to Government Mineral Springs Campground.
Park just short of the turnaround (your vehicle must have a valid Washington State Snow Park Permit from 01 Nov - 30 Apr unless otherwise posted).
