SECTION 1 - INTRODUCTION
a. This Policy sets out the requirements, in general, for the handling of vehicle stipends.
b. The purpose of this Policy is to adequately inform Members, particularly those Members who take on the responsibility of bringing vehicles to events.
c. The NWHA places a high value on the participation of vehicles at NWHA Events. It is recognized that there are significant expenses associated with acquiring, restoring, maintaining, repairing, transporting, insuring, and fueling of these vehicles.
SECTION 2 - DEFINITIONS
a. A “Vehicle” is defined as a functional motorized vehicle which is appropriate to the period, location, and circumstances of the event at which it is participating.
b. An “Approved Vehicle” is a Vehicle approved by the NWHA Board of Directors as such.
c. An “Approved Light Vehicle” is an Approved Vehicle with a tare weight of less than 3000 pounds.
d. An “Approved Heavy Vehicle” is an Approved Vehicle with a tare weight of 3000 pounds or more.
SECTION 3 - APPROVED LIGHT AND HEAVY VEHICLES
In order to encourage the participation of Approved Light Vehicles and Approved Heavy Vehicles at NWHA events, the Event Coordinator shall waive the collection of the Event Fees by any Member who owns such a vehicle participating at such an event. The waiver of the Event Fee is effective only for those days on which the vehicle actually participates.
SECTION 4 - APPROVED HEAVY VEHICLES
In order to encourage the participation of Approved Heavy Vehicles at NWHA events, any member who owns such a vehicle participating at such an event shall be paid by the NWHA a stipend in the amount of $25.00US per event day. The payment of this stipend is in addition to waiver of any NWHA Event Fees. The payment of this stipend is effective only for those days on which the vehicle actually participates.
SECTION 5 - STIPENDS PAID BY OTHER SOURCES
If the NWHA receives payment of a stipend from another source for the participation of a vehicle at an event, the NWHA shall pay that amount in full to the owner of the vehicle for which the stipend was originally paid. |
